Digital Writing

 Why?

  • With digital technology, students compose writing in a variety of digital formats, such as wiki posts, blog posts, podcast scripts, social media posts, and even their own digital book

  • A benefit of digital technology is the ease with which students can share their writing with audiences outside of the classroom.

  • Another benefit of digital technology for writing is the increased opportunity for collaboration and shared writing.

  • The Common Core State Standards specifically call for students to write with digital tools.

What?

  • Digital tools can be integrated into the classroom to provide new audiences, purposes and formats for writing while also meeting the goals of the Common Core State Standards.
